IISA lang ang minimithi ni Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) president Ricky Vargas – ang muling makapaglaro ang mga Pinoy boxer sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics at kung papalarin ay maduplika kung hindi man mahigitan ang silver medal finish nina Mansueto Velasco sa 1996 Atlanta Olympics at Anthony Villanueva noong 1964 sa Tokyo.

“The daunting task is indeed difficult, it is like scaling the summit. Our boxers have to undergo and hurdle all the challenges to compete in Tokyo. Hopefully, they would pass in the qualifying competitions,” sabi ni Vargas.

“If they pass the qualifying in China, they will no longer compete in France. However, if they fail to qualify in China, they will see action in France.  Hopefully, they would make it in China and avoid seeing action in France,” sabi ni Picson.

Ang mga Olympic aspirant ay kinabibilangan nina Felix Eumir Marcial, Jogen Lagon, Charley Suarez, Carlo Paalam, Ian Clark Bautista, Mario Fernandez, at James Palicte. CLYDE MARIANO
