MAY 1.8 milyong enrollees ang target ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) para sa iba’t ibang skills training courses at programs nito ngayong taon.
Ayon kay Deputy Director General Aniceto Bertiz III, may 1.2 milyong trainees ang nagtapos noong 2022, at 84.72 percent sa mga ito ay nakakuha na ng trabaho o kabuhayan.
Aniya, halos siyam sa 10 graduates ang nakakuha ng certification sa iba’t ibang sektor tulad ng agriculture, construction, health care at tourism.
“We are coordinating with the industries through the enterprise-based program. We include the stakeholders, industry, national government agencies in developing the courses so we could determine the demand,” sabi ni Bertiz.
May 10 mobile training laboratories ang tinurnover ngTESDA sa regional offices nito noong Lunes.
“We bring the TESDA programs to the provinces. The mobile training equipment aims to reach far-flung areas,” dagdag ni Bertiz.
Samantala, sinabi niya na nagsasagawa rin ang TESDA ng serye ng pakikipagtulungan at pakikipag-usap sa ibang bansa tulad ng Hungary, Korea, Japan at Middle East para magkaroon ng mutual recognition ng training and certification.
“We adopt the best practices of other countries,” aniya.
Ang TESDA ay may 16 regional at 82 provincial offices, at mahigit 4,700 TESDA-run schools. Magbubukas din ito ng innovation centers kung saan ituturo ang mga bagong skills training.
“We are also coordinating with local government units to know the skills and training that are in demand in their areas,” dagdag ni Bertiz.
