NASA 11,085 bagong kaso ng COVID-19 ang naitala pa sa bansa ng Department of Health (DOH) hanggang Agosto 18, 2021.

Batay sa case bulletin no. 522, nabatid na dahil sa naturang mga bagong kaso ng sakit, umaabot na ngayon sa 1,776,495 ang total COVID-19 cases sa Pilipinas.

Sa naturang bilang, 5.9% pa o 105,151 ang nananatiling aktibong kaso o nagpapagaling pa sa karamdaman.

Sa aktibong kaso, 96.0% ang mild cases, 1.3% ang severe, 1.0% ang asymptomatic, 0.91% ang moderate at 0.7% ang critical.

Mayroon namang naitalang 11,628 bagong gumaling sa karamdaman kaya’t sa kabuuan, mayroon nang 1,640,721 total COVID-19 recoveries sa bansa o 92.4% ng total cases.

Samantala, mayroon pang 161 mga pasyente ang binawian ng buhay dahil sa COVID-19 sanhi upang umabot na sa 30,623 ang total COVID-19 deaths sa bansa o 1.72% ng total cases.

Ayon sa DOH, mayroon rin naman silang 265 duplicates pang inalis mula sa total case count. Sa naturang bilang, 259 ang recoveries.

Nasa 74 kaso rin ang unang tinukoy na gumaling na mula sa karamdaman ngunit malaunan ay natuklasang pumanaw na pala, sa pinal na balidasyon.

Anang DOH, “Ayon sa pinakahuling ulat, lahat ng mga laboratoryo ay operational noong August 16, 2021 habang mayroong 9 laboratoryo na hindi nakapagsumite ng datos sa COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Base sa datos sa nakaraang 14 na araw, ang kontribusyon ng 9 labs na ito ay humigit kumulang 3.9% sa lahat ng samples na naitest at 5.6% sa lahat ng positibong mga indibidwal.”
