1,560 BIKTIMA NG HUMAN TRAFFICKING NAIBALIK NA SA KANILANG PAMILYA

AABOT sa kabuuang bilang na 1,560 katao na biktima umano ng human trafficking ang natulungan ng Department of Social Welfare and Deve­lopment (DSWD) na makarekober at maibalik sa kani-kanilang pamilya nitong 2024 sa pamamagitan ng Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons (RRPTP).

Sinabi ni DSWD Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, ang  victim-survivors ay tumanggap ng interventions at assistance mula sa ahensya upang matiyak na maayos ang kanilang kalagayan lalo na ang kanilang psychosocial, social, at economic needs.

“As the co-chair of the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) and the lead agency in social protection, we reaffirm our commitment to protect the victim-survivors of trafficking and any kind of abuse. We condemn any act of violence,” ani Dumlao.

Kabilang sa mga serbisyo na ibinibigay ng RRPTP ay ang case ma­nagement, kung saan sinusuri dito kung anong interbensyon o tulong ang maaaring ibigay sa victim-survivor. Binibigyan din sila ng basic hygiene kit, food and financial assistance.

Naglalaan din ang programa ng educational and medical assistance para sa victim-survivors gayundin ang referral para sa mga potential employers o business partners kung kinakailangan.

“We also provide trainings, auxiliary services for victim-survivors and witnesses in ongoing cases, and temporary shelter through the DSWD’s center and residential care facilities (CRCFs),” ayon pa kay Dumlao.

Ayon sa DSWD spokesperson, kabilang sa mga kaso ng trafficked persons ang forced labor, sexual exploitation, prostitution, illegal recruitment, child trafficking, at repatriation.
