SINABI kahapon ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) na halos 1,000 traditional jeepneys pa ang papayagang bumiyahe sa Metro Manila sa sandaling ibalik ito sa general community quarantine
Ang pahayag ay ginawa ni LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra sa virtual hearing ng House Committee on Transportation.
“Please be assured that when hopefully the restriction will ease up by August 19, there will be more PUJ that will be running on the streets of Metro Manila,” sabi ni Delgra sa mga kongresista sa panel.
Ayon kay Delgra, magmula nang suspendihin ang public transportation, maliban sa shuttle service, pagkaraang ibalik ang Metro Manila sa modified enhanced community quarantine, ang kanilang team ay regular na nagpupulong upang talakayin ang pagdaragdag ng PUJ units.
“Hindi lang PUJ, though we are focusing on PUJs because it has the most number of public utility vehicles, but also on the buses as well as the UV,” aniya.
Bukod sa mga unit, sinabi ng opisyal na magdaragdag din sila ng mga ruta para sa PUJs.
“Please be assured that when we open on August 18, we will increase the number of PUJ routes.”
