2-0 SA WARRIORS?

OAKLAND – Asahan ang mas mainit na bakbakan sa Game 2 ng NBA Finals sa pagitan ng Golden State at ng Cleveland kung saan target ng Warriors ang 2-0 bentahe.

Plano ni Draymond Green ng Golden State ang higit na puwersa at emosyon sa Game 2 na lalaruin ngayong araw habang nakahanda naman si Tristan Thompson ng Cleveland na tapatan siya sa kabila na muntik na itong masuspinde.

Nangako ang mga nagpasimuno sa last-seconds altercation sa 124-114 opening victory ng Warriors na hindi pa tapos ang ‘fireworks’.

“We’re trying to win a championship. Emotions should be involved,” wika ni Green. “If your emotions aren’t involved you should go sit down somewhere and ponder what the hell life is for.”

Si Thompson ay tinawagan ng flagrant foul at napatalsik sa laro, may 2.6 segundo ang nalalabi sa overtime. Nang tuyain ni Green, tinulak ni Thompson ang bola sa kanyang mukha patungong locker rooms.

Nirebyu ng liga ang insidente at pinagmulta si Thompson ng $25,000 nang hindi ito agad umalis ng court subalit nakaligtas ito sa suspensiyon.

“They made a good decision. I’m playing so I’m happy. I’m glad I’m able to play with my teammates and not watching on TV,” wika ni Thompson.

“The NBA has got to do what they’ve got to do with fines. I did what I had to do in terms of talking to the NBA. They made the right call by letting me play.”

Sinabi ni Thompson na wala siyang pinagsisisihan sa anumang nagawa niya at idinagdag na, “I thought I walked off pretty quickly. I got an early shower.”

Ayon pa kay Thompson, ang physical play at intense emotions ay hindi maiiwasan sa mga koponan na naglalaro sa ikaapat na sunod na final, isang  unprecedented feat sa North American sport.

“When you’ve been to four straight finals you start out not liking each other. In any playoff series you get irritated, for us it’s in game one,” aniya.

“It’s competitive. Of course we’re going to get irritated with each other. But it’s not going off the court, at least not for me.

“If I see them in the summer and they say hi I’ll say hi. I won’t go out of my way to say hi.”

Makalalapit ang Warriors ng dalawang hakbang sa kanilang ikatlong titulo sa apat na seasons sa pamamagitan ng home win ngayong araw sa best-of-seven championship series.
