2.5-3% GROWTH SA AGRI SECTOR

INAASAHANG lalago ang sektor ng agrikultura ng hanggang 3% sa fourth quarter ng taon, ayon kay Agriculture Secretary William Dar.

Kumpiyansa si Dar sa paglago ng sektor dahil sa pagbuti ng agricultural productivity.

“I said it will be between 2.5% to 3%. So, ilang araw na lang. Sana itong estimate natin ay nasa level na ‘yan (‘yung actual),” aniya.

Ang agriculture sector ay lumago ng 2.87% sa third quarter, kung saan nakabawi ito mula sa 0.87% pagbaba sa kaparehong panahon noong nakaraang taon.

“Considering all factors that are going to improve levels of productivity and income, plus of course factors that have slowed down to some degree the contribution of agriculture,” sabi ni Dar.

“The agriculture sector is a sleeping giant. But with the right policy, the right mechanisms, this sleeping giant can become the force by which more contribution to the gross domestic product will happen.”
