Ladies and gentlemen:
The 55th Anvil Awards reaffirms the higher level of confidence that the public relations industry in the Philippines holds upon PRSP’s Anvil Awards. Our list of Anvil participants is longer: more national newspapers and TV networks are coming into the picture not for Anvil press, photo or video releases but for outstanding PR campaigns that they themselves carried out and now actually winning the Anvil; more colleges and universities, hospitals, and non-government organizations and foundations have joined the race for the much-coveted Anvil trophy. At least two government departments joined this year and, in the Gabi ng Parangal on February 28, no less than their respective Department Secretaries went up the stage to receive the Anvil trophy. This is proof that indeed, receiving the Anvil is one proud moment that we have the honor of being with our company president and/or CEO in the celebrations.
From only about a hundred two or three decades ago, the number of Anvil entries hit a record high of 538 this year. Not only has quantity increased, the quality of the PR campaigns has also dramatically improved through the years, no disrespect to previous Anvil winners.
Once again, this year, we give honor to oustanding PR campaigns that stood above the rest, including those that used different platforms and tools to communicate to their target audiences.
We celebrate excellence and brilliance in the midst of mediocrity in the way messages are communicated to our people by the same authority supposed to deliver timely and accurate information to guard us and protect us from any kind of virus or sickness afflicting our society.
We celebrate truth in our PR programs in the midst of fake news, trolling, disinformation, and revisionism.
We celebrate freedom of expression in the midst of relentless attempts to curtail it out of vindictiveness or sheer arrogance.
It is our hope that you, our Anvil believers, will continue to take the high road in your PR campaigns to serve the greater good to a greater majority of our people. We challenge you to undertake more programs that promote good governance, responsible citizenship, and social responsibility, including those that support entrepreneurship and job generation or improve the quality of education and literacy in the communities that you serve.
Congratulations to all winners! Mabuhay ang Anvil awards! Mabuhay ang PRSP!
