KAHIT sinasa- bing may naka- paloob na ‘pork’ sa P4-trillion na panukalang 2020 national budget, nilagdaan pa rin ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III ang niratipikahang General Appropriations Bill kamakalawa ng gabi.
“Yes I did, last night. The President, Sec. Avisado, Sen Lacson, and I already understand each others’ concern,” ani Sotto sa text message na pinadala sa mga mamamahayag.
Kasabay nito, kinumpirma rin ni Senador Panfilo Lacson na ibinigay na rin niya ang “list of questionable budget items” kay Sotto, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea at Budget and Management Secretary Wendel Avisado.
“I already submitted […] the list of questionable budget items. Having said that, I leave the fate of the national budget to their appreciation as it is purely presidential prerogative,” ani Lacson sa text message.
Sinabi rin ni Sotto na transparent ang budget, subalit kung may mga concern, alam na ito ng executive department.
“Kung whatever action the executive department does, sila na ‘yun,” ayon kay Sotto.
Gayundin, sinabi ni Sotto na tatalakayin nila sa Lunes ang concern ni Lacson kaugnay sa P4.1-trillion proposed 2020 national budget kasama ang executive department at si Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Nilinaw rin ni Sotto na hindi agad na malalagdaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang niratipikahang pondo dahil sa matagal na printing period.
“The latest will be January 6. ‘Yun ang suspetsa namin na pinakamabilis na matapos ang printing kasi may mga holidays. May weekend. Sabihin lang nila, latest January 6,” diin ni Sotto. VICKY CERVALES
