TULOY ang 24-oras na curfew para sa mga menor-de-edad sa Navotas City sa kabila ng desisyon ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) na payagan na ang mga may edad 15- 65 na lumabas ng bahay.
“We want our children to stay safe. This is precisely why we kept them from going to school and encouraged them to attend distance learning classes instead,” ani Mayor Toby Tiangco.
“Allowing those between 15 to 18 years old to go out is absurd. It defeats the purpose of distance learning and will further distract them from their studies. We cannot afford to be wishy-washy with our rules. Lives are at stake,” giit ng alkalde.
Binigyang-diin ni Tiangco na nakasaad sa City Ordinance No. 2020-33 na ang mga residenteng wala pang 18 anyos ay dapat manatili sa bahay sa lahat ng pagkakataon habang ang lungsod ng Navotas ay nasa ilalim pa ng community quarantine o anumang lockdown na itinakda ng pambansa o lokal na pamahalaan.
“We are still under general community quarantine. As long as a quarantine is in place, we will continue to uphold our 24-hour curfew to keep young Navoteños safe from COVID-19,” anang alkalde.
Samantala, sinabi naman ng punong-lungsod na ang seniors ay maaari nang lumabas kung sila ay mga authorized persons outside residence o may kinakailangang bilhin. EVELYN GARCIA
