QUEZON CITY – PINURI ni Philippine Army, commandENCOUNTERing general Lt. Gilbert I. Gapay ang mga elemento ng Army Intelligence Unit at mga operatiba ng Army 7th Infantry Division na nagsagawa ng operasyon na nagresulta sa kamatayan ng tatlong lider ng Com-munist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) kahapon ng madaling araw sa Novalichez, Quezon City.
Kinilala ni Gapay ang dalawang top-ranking leaders na napatay ng kanyang mga tauhan na sina Eleuterio Sadyaw Agmaliw alyas Omeng at Freddie Daileg alyas Poldo at isang hindi pa nakikilalang lalaki nang manlaban ang mga ito sa awtoridad.
May dalawang tauhan ng Quezon City Police ang nasugatan sa ginawang pagsisilbi ng warrant of arrest kaugnay sa mga kaso ng pag patay; bigong pagpatay, at destructive arson.
“This accomplishment is largely attributed to our efforts of capacitating our forces for greater mission effectiveness and excellent performance. We assure the public that capacitating our forces is a continous effort, and coupled with the support of our people we will be able to accomplish more in the pursuit of lasting peace,” ani Gapay.
Matapos ang may 45 minutong bakbakan, patay ang tatlong CPP-NPA leader at nabawi sa encounter site ang isang M16 Armalite rifle with magazine and ammunition, isang cal. 38 revolver, dalawang hand grenades, improvised explosive device components, cellphones, laptop, at mga subversive documents.
Sa ulat bandang alas- 3:30 ng madaling araw sinalakay ng mga tauhan ng Army Intelligence at 7th ID at ng Army 3ISU, 16ISU, 14AIB, 84IB, 69IB & 7MIB at JTF-NCR; JSOG, AFP; RSOG, National Capital Region Police Office, Special Weapons and Tactics at Quezon City Police Dis-trict partikular ang Station 4, at DID, QCPD.
Si Agmaliw ay commanding officer Kilusang Larangan Gerilya Siera Madre, Central Luzon Regional Committee, habang si Daileg ay kasalu-kuyang Deputy Secretary ng Larangang Guerilya Platon ay naneyutralisa sa kanilang safe house sa Princess Anne Street, Queensland Subdivi-sion, Damong Maliit, Novaliches, Quezon City.
