KAKAHARAPIN ng dalawang importers at mga broker nito ang kasong kriminal sa Department of Justice (DOJ) dahil sa paglabag sa Customs Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines.

Ayon sa BOC,   illegal na  nagparating ng tatlong cargo trucks at ukay-ukay ang mga ito  na tinatayang aabot sa P4.39 milyon ang nang walang kaukulang mga dokumento.

Batay sa reklamo ng BOC, nagparating noong Disyembre 14, 2020 si G. Arabia ng Platinum Cons. and Development  ng misdeclared na tatlong cargo trucks, na nagkakahalaga ng P2.44 milyon  nang walang DTI-certificate of authority to import.

Habang ang  Emego General Merchandised   ay ilegal na  nagparating noong Enero  4, 2021 ng P1.95 milyon used clothing o tinatawag na ukay-ukay.

Samantala,  kinondena ng ilang port user ang naging hakbang na ito dahil ang kinakasuhan ay ang mga maliliit na importer bagkus ang mga smuggler  na nagpaparating ng 100  hanggang 200  40 footer container ng ukay -ukay ay malayang nakalalabas sa bakuran ng BOC.

Ito umano ay  dahil sa sabwatan ng mga tiwaling tauhan ng CIIS, Customs Police, examiners at ilang matataas na opisyal ng Customs.

Ibinunyag  ng mga ito na ang illegal importer ng bulto-bultong ukay-ukay sa bansa ay ang nagsu-supply ng used clothing sa Bagiuo, Metro Manila, karatig na lugar sa Luzon at Central Visayas.

Kadalasan ay pinadadaan ang illegal importation ng mga ukay-ukay sa Manila International Container Port (MICP) at sa Port of Subic. FROI MIRALLOS
