31ST SEA GAMES SA MAYO 2022 KINUMPIRMA NG VIETNAM

KINUMPIRMA ng mga organizer ng 31st Southeast Asian Games na iho-host ng Vietnam sa Hanoi na lalaruin ang games sa Mayo 2022, ayon kay Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Rep. Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino.   

Gayunman ay hindi pa ibinigay ng Vietnam SEA Games Organizing Committee o VIESGOC ang ispesipikong petsa ng games sa Mayo.  

Ginawa ni VIESGOC Deputy Chairman Tran Duc Phan ang kumpirmasyon sa isang liham kay SEA Games Federation COO Dato Seri Chaiyapak Seriwak ng Thailand na may petsang October 28, 2021. Ang mga kopya ng liham ay ipinadala sa mga miyembro ng delegasyon.  

“The VIESGOC has adjusted the Games master plan, schedules, time lines … and reported to the Vietnamese government for approval,” nakasaad sa liham ni Phan, na siya ring SEAGF vice president. “As you know, the SEAGF meeting held on October 18, we informed you that the 31st SEA Games will be held in the middle of May 2022.”  

“The specific dates will be announced as soon as possible after receiving the [Vietnamese] government’s financial decision,” dagdag pa ni Phan.   

“Once again, we would like to officially confirm [that the] 31st SEA Games will be held in mid-May 2022.”  

Sinabi ni Tolentino na sa kumpirmasyon ng VIESGOC ay opisyal nang magsisimula ang pre-SEA Games preparations ng Team Philippines.  

“Now we can safely and officially say that our journey to the Vietnam SEA Games is on,” ani Tolentino. “This is the bell for all national sports associations involved and the Philippine Sports Commission to buckle down to work.”  

Nauna nang inanunsiyo ng POC na nasa 626 Pinoy athletes ang sasabak sa  29 sa 30 sports sa Vietnam Games program.  

Iginiit din ni Tolentino ang P200-million budget mula sa 2022 general appropriations para sa SEA Games preparation at  competition. CLYDE MARIANO
