UMABOT na sa 3,724 Pinoy sa United Arab Emirates (UAE) ang nakauwi na ng bansa kung saan 374 ang mga bagong dumating nitong Sabado sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Sa tala ng Department Foreign Affairs (DFA), ang 374 Pinoy workers mula sa UAE ay sakay ng chartered flight sa tulong ng ahensiya.
“We recognize the efforts of the men and women in our Posts overseas and at the Home Office, as we see in the increased number of the total number of Filipinos repatriated in July. We also recognize the assistance of other government agencies who work closely with us in this repatriation process,” ayon kay Undersecretary Sarah Lou Y. Arriola.
Sinabi ni Arriola na marami pang mga Pinoy mula sa UAE ang nakatakdang umuwi sa bansa sa katapusan ng Agosto.
Ang iba sa kanila ay naistranded dahil sa pandemya habang ang iba naman ay pawang mga distressed.
Ang bawat isa sa kanila ay makatatanggap ng $200 bilang ayuda ng DFA at sasailalim din sila sa mandatory 14-day facility-based quarantine.
