400 AFP SCHOLARS TUMANGAP NG REGALO SA PAGCOR

MAY 400 scholars ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang tumangap ng kanilang  Christmas gift packs mula sa  Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) bilang bahagi ng kanilang  annual gift-giving activity.

Ang mga recipient ay anak ng mga  active, wounded, and deceased military personnel na nagpapatuloy sa kanilang pag-aaral sa pamamagitan ng tulong mula sa AFP Educational Benefits System. Nagmula ang mag mag aaral na sumali sa “Pamaskong Handog ng PAGCOR”  na nagsimula pa noong 2016 sa ibat-ibang lugar sa  NCR at  Luzon .

Pinangunahan ni Major General Erickson Gloria, Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, J1 ng  AFP ang nasabing programa na ginanap sa General Headquarters Canopy Area sa Camp Aguinaldo. Kinatawan nito si Vice Admiral Gaudencio Collado Jr, ang The Deputy Chief of Staff of the AFP na siya ring  Chairman ng  AFP Educational Benefit System.

“I express my appreciation to PAGCOR for being one of our partners in recognizing the gallantry of our soldiers. Our partnership is very instrumental in turning the lives of soldiers’ children towards the fulfillment of their dreams. As of December 2018, the AFPEBSO is serving more than 3,500 grantees nationwide. Most of which are dependents of soldiers who were either killed or wounded in battle. Since its establishment in 2001, the office has already helped around 5,000 dependents to finish their studies through various law-mandated and partnership programs,” ani Gloria.

Kasama sa mga dumalo sa okasyon sina  Lt Col Antonio Dulunuan Jr, Chief of AFP Educational Benefits System Office (AFPEBSO) at Mr Jimmy Bondoc, Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility ng PAGCOR.

Sa pamamagitan ng AFPEBSO, patuloy ang ginagawang pakikipag-ugnayan ng Hukbong Sandatahan sa ibat ibang  ahensiya at organizations para makatugon sa kanilang layunin na maitaas ang morale at  welfare ng mga kasapi ng hukbo.

Bukod ito sa mga ginagawa nilang  fund-raising projects para lamang masuportahan ang lumalaking bilang ng grantees/scholars.

Matapos ang gift-giving activity, itinuloy ng  AFPEBSO ang kanilang raffle para sa “P50 Mo, Aral Ko” raffle project. Winners received up to P80,000 worth of prizes.. The profit of the ticket sales will be used to boost financial assistance being given to current grantees. VERLIN RUIZ
