42 PWD RECEIVES HEARING AID DEVICES FROM DOH-CALABARZON

THE regional office under the directive of Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo has conducted assessment and evaluation on the number of person with disabilities (PWDs) in the region in various provinces last June 2021.

“After conducting regionwide assessment on the needs of our PWDs in the region, we discovered some individuals and most of them were children are with hearing impairment. Kaya agad kaming nagsagawa ng hearing assessment para mabigyan sila ng kinakailangang suporta upang sila ay makapag-communicate ng maayos,” he stated.

“Ang ating mga PWDs ay nangangailangan ng mas higit na atensyon at konsiderasyon upang maibigay natin ang kanilang pangangailangan lalo na sa kalusugan,” he added.

There were 42 recipients who qualified and were given a free set of hearing device.

Regional Outcome Manager for Persons with Disabilities Paulina A. Calo led the distribution of the devices in various provinces. “Umaasa kami na sa mga hearing devices na ito ay maipagpatuloy ng mga bata ang kanilang pag-aaral at sila ay makapagtapos ng maayos at hind imaging hadlang ang kanilang kapansanan.”

“Ang DOH-CALABARZON po sa pangunguna ni Director Janairo ay naglaan ng mga programa para sa mga PWDs ng rehiyon upang sila ay mabigyan ng karagdagang mga tulong at suporta upang patuloy po silang makapamuhay ng maayos at ligtas,” Calo emphasized.

The provided hearing aid with hearing assessment is channel free, speech cue priority and REM fit technology customized. It is worn behind the ear and connected to a plastic earmolds that fits inside the outer ear.

It has audio efficiency, speech, adaptive noise reduction plus, binaural coordination including digital signal processing up to 8kHz, multi-environment program, soft noise management, automatic directionality, auto telephone detection, telecoil, hydrophobic coating for all BTEs (behind-the-ear), dust and water protection. It also has customization features, data logging, up to 7 listening program options and 4 freely-assignable program slots.

Among the recipients of the hearing aids in the province of Batangas were Guillermo Roldan, Bernadeth Lorino, Shaina Larein De Silva, Ehlerie Glindo, Nicole Anne Manalo and Procerpeda Enriquez.
Recipients from Laguna Province were Julieta Baquiran, Annaliza Canayon, Ade Calacalsada, Felix Legazpi, Luzviminda Dia, Wyngel Binn Pastor and Sarah Katigbak.

In Quezon province, Josefina Folloso, Jomari Tan, John Kerrwin Ilarde. Gracia Espinosa, Salome Paycao, Reynaldo Buhat, Stefhany Llada, Bryan Fernandez, Kriskha Gequinto and Pedro Dalisay.
In Rizal province. Francine Tin, Zarex Santos, Walter Andallo, Janette Abatol, Lanie Tambongco, Cecil Ann Pelayo, Eduardo Oriega, Diego Pangilinan, Lertes Recodig and Leslie Ann Mangi.

In Cavite Province, the recipients were Recca Mae Punzalan, Alessa Sheryn Boco, Sherwin Gabriel Mariano, Gerald Punzalan, Marian Nazarine Paguio, Gabriel Luiche Tolentino, Rizza Mae Punzalan, Allan Monzon and Veronica Bacnotan.
