INIULAT ng Department of Health (DOH) na nakapag-administer ang Filipinas ng 472,356 doses ng COVID-19 vaccines nito lamang Hulyo 22.
Ayon sa DOH, ito na ang pinakamataas na single-day accomplishment na naabot nila sa pagbabakuna.
“472,356. This was the number of jabs administered last July 22, 2021, a record high in our national vaccination campaign!” anang DOH.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire na kailangan pa nilang pataasin ang vaccination rate lalo na sa mga senior citizen na kabilang sa A2 priority list at mga persons with comorbidities na nasa A3 naman.
“We have to increase our vaccination rate, especially among our senior citizens and persons with comorbidities, who are at most risk for severe COVID-19,” ani Vergeire, sa pulong balitaan.
Nabatid na target ng pamahalaan na makapag-administer ng 500,000 doses kada araw upang maabot nilang mabakunahan ang may 70 milyong Pinoy sa bansa ngayong taon at makamit ang herd immunity.
Gayunpaman, aminado si Vergeire na ang bilis ng pagbabakuna sa bansa ay nakadepende pa rin sa availability ng suplay ng bakuna.
“When more vaccines come, we can exponentially increase the pace of our vaccination [effort],” aniya.
