5 ARTISTS COLLABORATE FOR SINAG NG SINING AT ARTABLADO

ARTablado opened its doors to five amazing artists, entitled “Sinag ng Si­ning.” This is an art      exhibit to express gratitude and put things in perspective in these difficult times.

The exhibition will run from October 1-15, 2022 at ARTablado Gallery, Level 2 Veranda. Al Perez, Pancho Piano, Ral Arrogante, Gari Carreon and Rhea Jai Fernandez are exceptional artists who dared to showcase their paintings and sculpture. These brave souls would like to comfort people through their arts, with 41 paintings and 10 sculptures.

The first featured ar­tist, Al Perez is popularly known locally and internationally for his paintings of different old churches in the Philippines. He said, “ I love working with different mediums. I do it to keep my artistry from becoming stagnant, to keep it alive and healthy.”

A recipient of several awards in Bulacan and Manila, Perez had been recognized as one of the Most Outstanding Bulakeño in the field of painting. This artist is known for his murals and stained glass designs even in international exhibition.

Pancho Piano won several major art competitions in the country and hailed as An Artist of the Year in Bicol Region. His design focuses on Bico­lano myths and traditions, in particular, the devotion of Bicolanos to Our Lady of Peñafrancia. Ral Arrogante, a sculptor who heads the Society of Phi­lippine Sculptors, believes in the value of recycled brass, its contribution to ecology, as a way of conserving our resources and maximizing the possibilities of transforming the material to a great work of art.

Until now, Arrogante just never gets tired of discovering potential materials in our surroundings for his sculpture.

An art educator, Carreon is influenced by a Portuguese artist Ric Nagualero. He admired this artist because Nagualero can turn his dreams into paintings. A member of Mandaluyong Artist League, Carreon continuously surprises his students with his rendition of 3D art and other new techniques in painting.

Another art educator, Fernandez, an artist and an international actor, teaches at International School. She considers herself a versatile artist who can work well with any medium. Her friends Arrogante, Isidro and Perez guide her in pursuing her passion for paintings, and studied well under Mary Rose Gisbert.

Great collaboration, guidance and teamwork are truly present among these featured artists for October at ARTablado. Their paintings and sculpture can be viewed until October 15, 2021.
