55 PANALONG PARTYLIST GROUPS, NAIPROKLAMA NA NG COMELEC

NAIPROKLAMA na ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang 55 partylist groups na nanalo sa May 9 national at local elections.

Tinukoy ng Comelec na tumayong National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), ang mga partylist group na nakakuha ng matataas na bilang ng mga boto sa pangunguna ng Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS), na nakakuha ng tatlong seat o puwesto sa 19th Congress.

Sumunod sa mga nangunang partylist group ay ang 1-Rider Partylist, Tingog, 4PS, Ako Bicol, at Sagip.

Tig-isang upuan sa Kongreso naman ang nakuha ng mga sumusunod na partylist group:

Hindi kasama sa binilang ang mga boto mula sa Shanghai, China, na may 1,991 registered votes ngunit ayon sa NBOC, hindi na maaapektuhan nito ang resulta at ranking ng mga nanalong partylist group.

Samantala, itinuloy pa rin ng Comelec na iproklama ang Gabriela at Kabataan partylist groups bagamat may nakabinbing disqualification cases laban sa mga ito.

Katwiran ni Comelec Commissioner George Garcia, pupuwede pa ring maipagpatuloy ang proklamasyon hangga’t hindi pa nareresolba ang kaso.

“In our precedent that we have been following, even if you have a pending case, based on our determination, the cases are not that meritorious, and even if it’s meritorious, we can still proceed with the proclamation of these candidates or these party-lists with pending cases. It is based on our discretion,” ani Garcia.

Binigyang-diin naman ni Comelec chairman Saidamen Pangarungan na layon ng partylist system na magkaroon ng kinatawan sa Kongreso ang mga Pilipino na matatawag na marginalized, underrepresented, at walang malinaw na pulitikal na nasasakupan.

“Such groups are given a stronger voice so that all sectors may be included as our nation moves towards development and prosperity. It is a hallmark of how Philippine democracy unites us all for a common purpose and a shared brighter tomorrow. The Comelec is proud in giving life to this system of representation,” diin ni Pangarungan.

“It is my hope that the voices of the voters ring clearer in the officials and representatives they voted, from the President down to the members of local councils. I pray for discernment and guidance for all of our elected leaders,” dagdag nito.Jeff Gallos
