“As part of the PSC’s campaign in spreading sports all over the country, we are honored to partner with City Mayor Jonard Chan and the local government of Lapu-Lapu City to host this international event in Cebu,” wika ni PSC Commissioner Ramon Fernandez matapos ang kanilang pag-pupulong noong Lunes sa kapitolyo ng lungsod kay Karate Pilipinas President Ricky Lim.
Pinasalamatan ni Mayor Chan ang PSC at Karate Pilipinas, at sinabing, “This is a great development in promoting sports tourism not just in Cebu, but for the whole country. Lapu-Lapu City is ready to welcome and accommodate our asian countries all throughout the games.”
Ang three-day competition ay magsisilbi ring test event para sa karatedo national team na sasabak sa nalalapit na 30th Southeast Asian Games. Magsasagawa rin ng technical seminar para sa coaches at trainers sa huling araw ng event.
