PINANGUNAHAN ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. ang surprise drug test sa matataas na opisyal ng nasabing organisasyon.
Itinaon ang on the spot drug test sa command conference nitong Setyembre 15 sa PNP National Headquarters sa Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Bahagi ng command conference ang nasabing hakbang na dinaluhan ng 89 top-level officials mula sa PNP Command Group, Directorial Staff, Regional Directors, at National Support Unit Directors.
Iginiit ni Acorda ang kahalagahan ng drug testing upang matukoy ang kalusugang mental at pisikal ng mga senior police official.
Kasama na rin kung paano ang pagtugon ng mga ito sa kanilang tungkulin at matiyak na karapat-dapat sila sa kanilang posisyon gayundin ang mataas na integridad bilang law enforcers.
Ang drug test ay pinangasiwaan ng forensic group upang matukoy ang patas at tamang resulta.
Lahat naman ng isinumiteng urine specimens ay negatibo sa droga.
