LUMALABAS sa pinakahuling talaan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) na mahigit sa 9,000 overseas Filipino workers ang nakabalik na sa bansa at lumapag sa Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA) sa Olongapo City.
Sa ulat kay Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, sinabi ni BI-Clark International Airport (CIA) head supervisor Maan Krista Lapid-Legaspi na may kabuuang 9,111 na pasahero ang dumating sa SBIA noon pang Hulyo nang muli itong binuksan para magserbisyo para sa special commercial flights na galing abroad.
Ang lahat ng kanilang mga flights ay isinakay ng Philippine Airlines upang dalhin ang overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at iba pang mga Pilipino na na-stranded dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our immigration officers in Clark are serving these Subic flights that arrive two to three times a week, each of which carries an average of 200 to 300 passengers,” ayon kay Legaspi.
Dagdag pa nito, may kabuuang 33 flights ang dumating na sa Subic simula pa ang nagsimula at repatriation na nanggaling mula sa Middle East, China at Palau.
“We assure PAL and our stakeholders in Subic that our officers will always be available to process the passengers of these repatriation flights,” ayon kay Morente. “Upon receiving the advanced notice on the schedule of these flights, we designate the number of immigration officers to provide arrival formalities,” dagdag pa nito Morente .
