Ipinag-utos ni Senate President Chiz Escudero na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon sa insidenteng naganap noong Huwebes ng gabi na kinasangkutan ng isang indibidwal na nahulog mula sa construction site ng Senate building sa kahabaan ng Chino Roces Ave., Extension, Brgy. Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
“Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero has been apprised of the incident. He immediately ordered a thorough investigation of the incident and a review of the security protocols in the construction site,” ayon kay Senate Spokesperson Atty. Arnel Jose Bañas.
Sa pahayag ng Senado, sinabi nito na ang mga ulat mula sa security team on-site at mula sa Southern Police District, dumulas sa construction area dakong alas-9:00 ng gabi ang biktima noong Hulyo 25 habang ang mga manggagawang nag-overtime ay lumalabas sa main gate.
“The deceased was reportedly chased by a companion and the security guards but could not be found. The security team searched the area and reviewed the CCTV but were not able to locate the person. According to the report, the victim fell off the north tower – it is yet unclear from which floor – at around 10:00 p.m.,” dagdag pa nito.
Hindi pa ibinunyag ang pagkakakilanlan ng biktima dahil hindi pa naaabisuhan ang pamilya nito hinggil sa insidente.
Ipinaabot ng Senado ang kanilang taos-pusong pakikiramay sa pamilya at mga kaibigan ng namatay.
