BILANG pagpupugay sa buhay na inalay ng 49 sundalo na nasawi sa pagbagsak ng Philippine Air Force C-130 Hercules transport plane at ikinasugat din ng 47 na iba pa, nag-alay ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ng one week national solemnity kasunod ng interfaith memorial na ginawa sa mga kampo ng militar.
“We are giving the highest tribute we can offer, to our comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice. We bear upon our shoulders the sacred responsibility of remembering their resolute faith and passion as they sought to fulfil their sworn mandate to protect and serve the Filipino people,” pahayag kahapon ni AFP Vice Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Erickson Gloria na siyang nangauna sa aktibidad.
Ang sabayang interfaith memorial service ay ginawa sa AFP General Headquarters (GHQ) Canopy sa Camp Aguinaldo, lahat ng major services at unified command headquarters at iba pang kampo militar.
Ang military priests, pastors at mga Imams ang siyang nag officiate sa memorial services
“These men and women have offered their lives on the line for the noble call of duty. For that, there is no amount of compensation that can ever repay the services that they have made for the country,” mensaheng ni NOLCOM commander Lieutenant General Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos.
Ayon naman kay Major General Romeo Saturnino Brawner Jr, 4IDNM Commander, kung saan nagmula ang halos 38 tauhan ng Philippine Army na nasawi sa sakuna, alay nito ang “Buklurang Panalangin bilang Parangal sa mga Kasundaluahang Nasugatan at mga Nagbuwis ng Buhay sa Trahedya sa Pagbagsak ng C130” sa isinagawang interfaith memorial sa Fajardo Hall, Camp Edilberto Evangelista, Brgy Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.
