DIREK Erik Mati has boldly compared Anne Curtis to the award-winning veteran actresses Vilma Santos
and Nora Aunor in terms of being a real actress.
He posted on Instagram a picture of Anne while they were shooting their movie BuyBust.
Sa litrato ay hawak ni Anne ang isang high-powered rifle, habang katabi niya ang isang lalaking nakasuot ng camouflage uni-form.
Sa caption, Direk Erik intoned na buo na ang audio production ng BuyBust, where Anne happens to be the lead actress.
After viewing the movie in its entirety, hindi mapigilan ng ace director ang magbalik-tanaw sa mga nerve-wracking scenes na ipinagawa nila kay Anne while the shooting of the movie was in progress.
Direk Erik has nothing but good words for Anne’s professionalism. In one scene, kinaladkad nila ang aktres sa mesang punung-puno ng mga babasagin. In another, sinindihan nila si Anne nang walang body double, at iba pa.
“She’s a star! And to ask for such unconventional things from a star, to ask her to be dragged on a table full of breakables, to light her on fire with no double, to demand 3 days of grueling 57 takes of 3-minute one tracking shot all night through with rain, jumps, punches and kicks is not at all easy,” he said in full admiration of Anne’s professionalism.
Para kay Direk Erik, ang mga artistang open sa lahat ng roles o eksenang ipagawa sa kanila ay bibihira.
Ikinumpara niya si Anne kina Nora at Vilma. “Stars who are willing to do what it takes for certain roles they feel are memora-ble, just like Nora and Vilma, are not too many. Others will have too many rules. Some will take shortcuts and not break out a drop of sweat.”
Ayon pa kay Direk Erik, ang ibang mga artista ay mas matagal pa ang panahong iniuukol sa pagpapaganda kaysa gawin ang isang actual scene. “A lot of them will spend more time looking at the mirrors than doing the actual scenes. And most of them will think that is already what a commitment means…”
“And looking at the roles she’s been accepting with #SidandAya and her new horror film, Anne Curtis Smith is the real deal. She’s a celebrity, second. And a really good actor, first.”

And in her comment, she was literally melting with profound gratitude.
