APPLICATIONS SA VOTER REGISTRATION 8M NA

INIHAYAG ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na umaabot na sa halos walong mil­yon ang aplikasyon sa voter registration para sa Eleksiyon 2022 ang kanilang natatanggap.

Ayon kay Comelec Spokesperson James Ji­menez, nakapagtala na sila ng kabuuang 7,994,821 aplikasyon hanggang nitong Set­yembre 25 lamang.

Inaasahan namang madaragdagan pa ito dahil na rin sa pag-apruba ng Comelec en banc sa hiling na voter re­gistration extension na itinakda mula Oktubre 11 hanggang 30.

Wala naman aniyang voter registration sa mga araw ng Sabado at Linggo, maliban na lamang sa Oktubre 30 na araw ng Sabado kung kailan magka-karoon ng voter registration mula 8:00AM hanggang 5:00PM.

Tiniyak  ni Jimenez na lahat ng uri ng registration services ay tatanggapin nila sa panahon ng rehistruhan.

Karamihan aniya sa registration ay isasagawa sa mga tanggapan ng Comelec, ngunit mayroon pa ring mall registration sites.

Mananatili pa rin namang opsiyon ang online reactivation.

Matatandaang bukod sa voter registration, inaprubahan din ng Comelec noong Setyembre 29 ang pagpapalawig pa sa overseas voters registration ng dalawang linggo, o mula Oktubre 1 hanggang 14.

Ang orihinal na deadline para sa voter registration period ay Setyembre 30 lamang.
