APRUBADO na sa Kamara sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang House Bill 7425 o ang Act Establishing Digital Taxation in the Philippines.

Sa botong 167 na pabor, 6 na tutol at isang abstention ay inaprubahan ng Kamara ang panukala na layong amyendahan ang ilang probisyon ng National Internal Revenue Code of 1997 kung saan papatawan ng value added tax ang  digital transactions sa Pilipinas.

Sakop nito ang digital o electronic transactions ng pagbebenta o barter ng  goods at services

Halimbawa nito ang online market place, streaming platforms, social networks, e-learning platforms, online newspapers at journals at payment processing services.

Itinutulak na patawan ng 12% VAT ang gross receipts ng mga non-resident digital service providers (DSP), ngunit maaari itong ibaba sa 5% kung ito ay nagbibigay serbisyo sa gobyerno.

Oobligahin din ang mga non-resident DSP na magparehistro sa VAT kung ang gross sales o receipts nito sa nakalipas na taon ay lagpas sa P3 million.

Sa naunang pagtaya ni Ways and Means Committee Chairman Joey Salceda, isa sa may akda ng panukala, imakalilikom ito ng P10 billion na kita para sa gobyerno o P1 billion revenue mula sa local platform at P9 billion revenue naman mula sa foreign platform. CONDE BATAC
