ASYMPTOMATIC COVID PATIENTS PINABIBIGYAN NG SAP

DAHIL sa kinakailangan  pansamantalang ilagay sa ‘isolation facilities’ ang mga tinaguriang asymptomatic o mildly symptomatic COVID patient upang maiwasan ang posibilidad na sila’y makapanghawa, iminungkahi ng senior official ng mino-rity bloc sa Kamara ang pagbibigay rin sa mga ito ng perang ayuda sa ilalim ng Social Amelioration Program (SAP)  ng pamahalaan.

Ayon kay Iloilo province 1st Dist. Rep. Janette Loreto-Garin, dating kalihim ng  Department of Health (DOH), dapat ikonsidera na ang nasabing mga pasyente, lalo na ang ‘breadwinners’, ay matulungan ng gobyerno na matugunan ang pang-araw araw na gastusin ng kani-kanilang pamilya.

“Isolation centers go hand in hand with massive testing. This should be complemented with a social amelioration fund of Php5,000 to PhP10,000 per asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic COVID patient so they can feed their families while in isolation,” sabi pa ng Iloilo lady solon.

Pagbibigay-diin ni Garin, ang muling pagsasailalim sa modified enhanced community quarantine o MECQ, partikular ang Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite at Laguna, ay paraan upang maiwasan ang posibleng pagbagsak ng  healthcare system at bigyan ng ‘little breathing space’ ang  frontline health workers.

“However, community quarantine is not the sole solution for COVID-19. It needs to be parallel with continuous efforts to curb the virus and its transmission. As I have always suggested, we need a whole of nation approach. We need to attack COVID, not just wait for it to show via the symptoms manifested by patients. We need to keep on testing and immediately isolate the positives while allowing the negatives to help our economy recover, ” giit niya.

Sa pamamagitan ng private sector initiatives, pangunahin sa ilalim ng Project ARK PCR, sinabi ni Garin na matagumpay nitong napababa ang halaga ng  PCR/ Swab Testing sa  Php1,800 hanggang Php2,000 at tiwala siyang maaari pang maibaba ito sa hanggang Php350 na lamang.

“Mula sa kasaluku-yang presyo na PhP4,500 to PhP8,000 bawat tao sa isang test, mapapababa natin ang presyo nito hanggang PhP350 kada tao sa pooled testing.” ROMER R. BUTUYAN
