TINATRABAHO na ng pamahalaan ang pagsasapribado sa iba pang paliparan sa bansa.
Ito ang inihayag ni Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista matapos ang paglagda sa Laguindingan International Airport Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Project Concession Agreement sa President’s Hall.
Sinabi ni Bautista na kabilang sa naturang mga paliparan ang Bohol-Panglao International Airport, Davao International Airport, at Iloilo International Airport.
”Right now, we are working on the unsolicited proposals for Bohol-Panglao International Airport. Iyong Swiss challenge period will end November 11 for the Bohol-Panglao International Airport,” ani Bautista.
”We are also looking at the privatization of the Iloilo International Airport. We’re working closely with a possible concessionaire. In fact, natapos na iyong aming negotiation ‘no, and we will just need to get NEDA approval for this project,” dagdag pa niya.
“We’re also working for a possible solicited PPP for the Davao International Airport. In fact, a few weeks ago, we signed a transaction advisory services agreement with International Finance Corporation for them to assist us in preparing the terms of reference for the privatization of the Davao International Airport,” ayon kay Bautista.
Dagdag pa ng kalihim, tinatrabaho rin ng pamahalaan ang pagsasapribado at operasyon, gayundin ang maintenance ng Kalibo International Airport.
”So we’re also working with ADB for privatization of possible seven to fifteen more airports in the country,” ani Bautista.
Magugunitang ang PPP project para sa upgrade, expansion, operations, at maintenance ng Laguindingan Airport ay inaprubahan ng NEDA Board noong July 2023.
Layon nito na maisaayos ang airport sa loob ng 30 taon at magsagawa ng dalawang bahagi ng capacity augmentation upang matugunan ang tumataas na demand.
Ang nasabing proyekto ay naglalayong suportahan ang pagsisikap ng pamahalaan na palakasin ang regional development at isulong ang turismo sa northern Mindanao at mga kalapit na rehiyon nito.
