BAGO AT MODERNONG SUBSTATION NG MERALCO, PINASINAYAAN!

IDINAOS kamakailan ang pasinaya ng pinakabago at modernong ­substation ng Meralco. Ang Bridgetowne Substation ay isang integrated at fully-automated Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) ­substation na seserbisyuhan ang isang premiere township development ng Robinsons Land ­Corporation (RLC) na matatagpuan sa hangganan ng Pasig City at Quezon City.

Ang nasabing substation ay itinayo ng Meralco upang masiguro ang patuloy, sapat, at maaasahang daloy ng koryente para sa lumala­king panga­ngailangan ng mga nasa 31-hectare na proyekto kung saan magkakaroon ng mga residential condominiums, office buildings, shopping center, isang 5-star na hotel, park, eskuwelahan, ospital, at isang public art installation.

Ang modernong Bridge­towne Substation na ito na may paunang kapasidad na 83MVA ay itinayo sa isang 1,293sqm na lote na inilaan ng RLC sa pamamagitan ng isang collaborative real estate arrangement. Maliban sa mga nasa Bridgetowne, makikinabang din sa substation na ito ang iba pang mga karatig na kabahayan.

Dumalo sa inauguration ang mga pinuno ng Meralco, RLC, at mga kinatawan ng Pasig City at Quezon City LGUs na sina Atty. Jeronimo U. Manzanero, City Administrator ng Pasig City, at si Alberto H. Kimpo, Assistant City Administrator ng Quezon City.

Ang bagong substation na ito ay umaayon sa International Electromechanical Commisions (IEC) 61850 digital communication protocol para sa mga electrical substations. Ayon kay Meralco SVP at Head ng Networks na si Ronnie L. Aperocho “The Bridge-towne substation will definitely improve depen­dability and reliability of electricity service in the Bridgetowne community and surrounding growth areas, as it relieves expec­ted critical loading of nearby Hillcrest, Cainta, and SM-Shang­ri-la substations.”

Sa pahayag naman ng Pa­ngulo ng Robinsons Land Corporation na si Frederick Go, kanyang sinabi na “Our vision for Bridge-towne is to increase job opportunities and progress in Quezon City, Pasig, and the immediate communities.
