NILINAW kahapon ng Department of Health (DOH) na bagama’t nais nilang palawakin ang expanded testing laban sa coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) ay hindi naman ito nangangahulugan na magsasaga wa sila ng mass testing.
Nauna rito, inamin ng DOH na kailangang palawakin ang pagsusuri para sa COVID-19, kabilang na ang pagsasagawa ng house-to-house sa tulong ng mga lokal na pamahalaan.
Pero paglilinaw naman ni Health Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, ito ay hindi mass testing.
“Ang ibig ho nating sabihin, gusto nating palawakin pa ang pagte-test natin, but this is not mass testing,” ani Vergeire, sa Laging Handa press briefing.
“Ang gagawin po natin, ‘yung pagba-bahay-bahay is for us to identify immediately those individuals who are sick para matanggal natin sila kanilang bahay kung sakali at mai-isolate natin sila. By doing this, yung pagte-test natin is still targeted,” aniya pa.
Ayon pa kay Vergeire, tanging ang mga may sintomas o may exposure sa COVID-positive patients ang isasalang nila sa pagsusuri.
“Pupunta tayo sa mga bahay at kung sino yung dapat natin i-test because they have symptoms or they were exposed, ‘yun ang ite-test natin but this is not mass testing,” aniya pa. ANA ROSARIO HERNANDEZ
