Ayon kay Jimenez, sa ngayon ay nakikipag-usap na ang Comelec sa Department of Education (DepEd) hinggil sa mga gurong magsisilbi bilang BEIs sa halalan.
Ipinaliwanag ni Jimenez na naghahanda na sila ngayon ng budget proposal sa Kongreso at kasama rito ang budget na ilalaan para sa BEIs.
“‘Yan ang pinag-uusapan with DepEd ngayon, kasi may budget considerations diyan and naghahanda na kami ngayon para sa budget proposal natin sa Kongreso,” dagdag pa ni Jimenez.
Nauna nang sinabi ng Comelec na wala na silang plano pang palawigin ang voter registration sa bansa dahil kailangan pa umano nila ng panahon upang paghandaan ang eleksiyon.
Sa halip, pinalawig na lamang ng Comelec ang voter registration hours upang mas marami pang botante ang makapagpatala.
