BATAS PARA SA BETERANO, 2 PA PIRMADO NA NI PBBM

INAPRUBAHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang tatlong panukalang batas na naglalayong tingnan at proteksyonan ang disabled military veterans, pagsulong ng business system at pagpapalakas ng conservation and protection ng Philippine cultural heritage.

Ang isang serye ng mga transmittal letter na hiwalay na naka-address kay Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri at Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ay nilagdaan na ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin noong Agosto 24, kung saan nakapaloob ang tatlong batas na inaprubahan ni Pangulong Marcos.

Sa Martes, Agosto 29, ay ino-notify na ni Bersamin sa Kongreso hinggil sa paglagda ni Pangulong Marcos sa Republic Act (RA) Nos. 11958, 11960, and 11961.

Ang RA No. 11958 ay may titulong “An Act Rationalizing the Disability Pension of Veterans, Amending for the Purpose Republic Act. No. 6948, Entitled, ‘An Act Standardizing and Upgrading the Benefits for Military Veterans and their Dependents’, na inamyendahan ay naglalayong magbigay ng monthly disability pension sa beterano na na-disable dahil sa sakit, o injuries habang nasa line of duty.

Nilagdaan din ng Pangulo ang RA No. 11960 titled, ‘An Act Institutionalizing the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Program, Appropriating Funds Therefor, and for Other Purposes,’ otherwise known as the OTOP Philippines Act na naglalayong maisulong ang pagiging self-reliant at independent national economy.

Ito ay upang maging tama at epektibo ang support services para sa local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sa pangunguna ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) na may collaboration sa iba’t ibang ahensiya gaya ng Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) at Department of Agriculture (DA).

Miyembro ng OTOP ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Science and Technology (DOST) at Department of Tourism (DOT).

Kasama rin sa inaprubahan ni PBBM ang RA No. 11961 titled, ‘An Act Strengthening the Conservation and Protection of Philippine Cultural Heritage Through Cultural Mapping and Enhanced Cultural Heritage Education Program, na nag-aamenda sa Purpose Republic Act No. 10066, na kilalang “National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009.”
