ON February 22, 2021 (Monday) at about 3:25 p.m., crew from La Paz Fire Station, Makati City, responded to a vehicular accident involving an SUV vehicle (Land Cruiser) and a Metromart motorcycle delivery on Archimedes and Caton Sts, Brgy. La Paz, Makati City.

The Metromart delivery driver identified as Danilo Marquez, 27, and a resident of Pasay City, suffered serious injuries on his left  arm and bruises on different parts of his body.

The nearby La Paz Fire Station BFP personnel immediately proceeded to the place of incident and administered first aid to the victim. He was rushed to Ospital ng Makati for further medical treatment on board Brgy. Singkamas Rescue Ambulance.

The incident was referred to PNP traffic bureau of Makati City for investigation.

Information revealed that the La Paz Fire Station was a recipient of first aid kit and other emergency/rescue tools and equipment which were donated by the Rotary Club of San Juan Neopolitan spearheaded by Transforming President Cesar J. Pangan.

According to TP Pangan, who was also a member of the BFP, first aid kit and other emergency/rescue tools and equipment are quite indispensable and must be readily available to all BFP Fire Station in rendering emergency assistance such as the vehicular accident.

“Records disclosed that due to the rising number of reported vehicular accident within the area of responsibility (AOR), the Rotary Club of San Juan Neopolitan thru TP Pangan, are very much willing to provide support,” he added.

Supt. Flor-Ian Guerrero, Makati City Fire Director, in his message during the turnover, said that the first aid kit and other emergency/rescue tools and equipment, would probably enhance the capability in the delivery of public service.

As mandated by law, the BFP aside from performing its basic function of preventing and suppressing the destructive fires, is also mandated to respond to man-made and natural disasters and other emergencies.
