BENTA NG IMPORTED VEHICLES BUMABA

MAY KABUUANG 5,433 imported vehicles ang naibenta sa bansa sa unang buwan ng taon, ayon sa Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID).

Ang benta ng AVID sa Enero ng kasaluku­yang taon ay mas mababa ng 16.2 percent kumpara noong Enero 2019 sa 6,482 units.

Bagsak ang lahat ng segments, sa pangunguna ng passenger cars sa 31 percent.

“Sales of imported passenger cars year-on-year for the month of January declined to 1,553 units from 2,258 units,” sabi pa ng AVID.

Samantala, ang benta ng light commercial vehicle ay bumaba ng 7.5 percent sa 3,855 units noong Enero 2020 mula sa 4,157 units sa kaparehong buwan noong 2019.

Bumaba rin ang commercial vehicle sales ng 6.3 percent year-on-year sa 25 units mula sa 67 units.

“2020 will be a very challenging year for the industry given the slowdown in automotive demand, supply chain disruptions, and dampened consumer confidence caused by twin events these (Taal Volcano eruption and coronavirus outbreak),” wika ni AVID President Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo.          PNA
