NAKAKOLEKTA ang Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), sa ilalim ng liderato ni Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr., ng ₱ 273.134 billion (net of tax refund) noong July 2023.
Nalagpasan nito ang collection target ng 5.09% o ₱ 13.224 billion para sa naturang buwan.
Mas mataas din ito ng 38.37% o ₱75.744 billion kumpara sa tax collections para sa kaparehong panahon noong nakaraang taon.
Pagdating sa cumulative collection mula January hanggang July 2023, ang total gross collection ng BIR ay nasa ₱1.492 trillion (net of tax refund), na mas mataas ng 12.21% o ₱162.404 billion kumpara sa nakolekta sa kaparehong panahon noong nakaraang taon.
Para sa CY 2023, ang collection target ng BIR ay ₱ 2.639 trillion, mas mataas ng ₱303.500 billion o 12.99% kumpara sa CY 2022 actual collection.
“With the intensification of the Bureau’s tax enforcement activities, specifically on the campaign against sellers and buyers of fake receipts, and with our newly-forged partnership with multi-sectoral groups for the enhancement of taxpayers’ service, we are confident that the BIR can attain, if not surpass, its annual collection target this year,” wika ni Commissioner Lumagui.
