BILANG suporta sa kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga ni Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) Benjamin Abalos Jr., nagsagawa ng surprise drug test ang Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) sa mga matataas na opisyal at tauhan nito na nakatalaga sa National Headquarters (NHQ) nitong Lunes.
Ipinag-utos ni BJMP chief Allan Iral ang pagsasagawa ng drug testing pagkatapos mismo ng flag-raising ceremony na ginanap sa Main Conference Room ng BJMP-NHQ.
“The surprise drug test is part of our support to the call of SILG Abalos to cleanse our rank from any involvement in illegal drugs, and to exemplify professionalism and discipline among our personnel,” pahayag ni Iral.
May kabuuang 467 tauhan ang sumailalim sa drug testing na pinangangasiwaan ng Directorate for Health Service ng BJMP-NHQ.
“Let this be a validation of our firm stance and commitment to eradicate not only corruption but also illegal drugs in our facilities,” ani Iral.
Bagamat naging negatibo naman ang resulta ng sorpresang drug test, pinaalalahanan ng BJMP chief ang mga matataas na opisyal na hindi siya magdadalawang isip na sampahan sila ng mga kasong kriminal at administratibo laban sa mga mapapatunayang sangkot sa illegal drug trade.
“We are not putting limits on what we can accomplish especially in the fight against drugs. We will not tolerate any proven wrongdoing even if it means dismissing from service our own officers,” dagdag pa ng opisyal. EVELYN GARCIA
