BONG GO CONTINUES RELIEF SERIES IN NORTHERN SAMAR, THIS TIME IN CATUBIG, TO HELP INDIGENTS OVERCOME ECONOMIC CHALLENGES

SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go’s tireless relief initiatives swept through Northern Samar, culminating in a significant aid distribution in Catubig town on Friday, June 28, in partnership with Mayor Solomon Vicencio and Vice Mayor Galahad Vicencio.

This latest effort, part of Go’s continuous series of initiatives aimed at alleviating the hardships of over a thousand beneficiaries, underscores the ongoing commitment of Go and his Malasakit Team to the welfare of the impoverished, particularly those in underserved areas.

This newest outreach follows closely on the heels of similar successful events in the province, including a notable relief operation in Lapinig on June 27 and another in Mapanas on June 25.

“Each activity reflects a deepening dedication to public service, especially during challenging times. Our commitment to public service grows stronger in times like these. Through our collective efforts, we can help ensure no one is left behind,” Go remarked in a video message.

“Let us help each other. Let us work together and show compassion to our fellow Filipinos to help them overcome these crises,” he added during the Catubig event.

During the Catubig activity held at the municipal gym, 1,000 residents received essential items, including shirts, shoes, basketballs, and volleyballs from Go’s Malasakit Team. Selected individuals also received mobile phones, enhancing their connectivity and access to resources.

In collaboration with Mayor Vicencio, financial aid was also extended to the residents from the government.

Go, who chairs the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, reiterated his commitment to the health and well-being of Filipinos. He encouraged those in need of medical care to visit nearby Malasakit Centers, located at Northern Samar Provincial Hospital, Eastern Visayas Medical Center in Tacloban City, Leyte Provincial Hospital in Palo, Schistosomiasis Hospital in Palo, and the New Western Leyte Provincial Hospital in Baybay City.

The Malasakit Centers, established through Republic Act No. 11463, or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, serve as a one-stop shop where indigent patients can access various medical assistance programs from concerned agencies. Since their inception in 2018, these centers have aided approximately ten million Filipinos nationwide according to DOH.
