BONG GO DECLARED ADOPTED SON OF KAYAPA, NUEVA VIZCAYA DURING INAUGURATION OF NEW MUNICIPAL HALL

In a ceremonial event held on Wednesday, May 29, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go attended the inauguration of the new Kayapa Municipal Hall, which he supported and advocated for as vice chair of the Senate Committee on Finance.

The newly inaugurated municipal hall is expected to enhance the administrative capabilities of Kayapa, providing a more efficient and responsive local governance.

Meanwhile, Go expressed his deep connection and commitment to the town as the Sangguniang Bayan of Kayapa unanimously passed Resolution No. 2024-170 on May 20, which officially adopted him as a son of the municipality.

The resolution not only acknowledged Go’s efforts but also baptized him with the name “Lacbongan,” in honor of a revered Kalanguya leader known for his prestige and service as both vice mayor and political advisor in Kayapa. This name symbolizes Go’s integration into the cultural heritage of the community and his embodiment of the values that “Lacbongan” represented—valor, dignity, and generosity.

The resolution specifically recognizes Go as instrumental in securing funds for the new municipal building. It likewise expresses the honor felt by the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs), including the Kalanguya, Iwak, and Ibaloi groups, for having an adopted son who considers himself a native of Kayapa and who has envisioned development and progress for the mountainous town.

The resolution also notes Go’s affection and unconditional support for the realization of different development projects and health initiatives, which endeared him to the people of Kayapa.

In addition to the municipal building, Go has also supported the improvement of the local road network in Kayapa, specifically the Barangay Talecabcab-Tawag-Barangay Besong route. This development is crucial for enhancing connectivity and accessibility, which is vital for the economic and social integration of these remote areas.

Throughout Nueva Vizcaya, he supported the construction of a multipurpose building in Bayombong; road improvement in Ambaguio, Dupax del Norte and Kayapa; construction of a multipurpose building in Bambang; construction of an evacuation center in Dupax del Sur; provision of potable water supply in Brgys. Baliling and Bacneng in Sta. Fe; and acquisition of a dump truck and a multipurpose vehicle in Quezon town.

Go who is known as Mr. Malasakit for his compassionate service to Filipinos in need.

On the same day, Go also attended the inauguration of the Super Health Center in Kayapa and aided displaced workers in the town.
