BONG GO HONORED AS PUBLIC SERVICE HALL OF FAME AWARDEE AT THE GOLDEN GLOBE ANNUAL AWARDS FOR BUSINESS AND FILIPINO ACHIEVERS

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go was recognized as a Public Service Hall of Fame awardee at the 17th Golden Globe Annual Awards for Business and Filipino Achievers (GGAABE) held on Friday, December 13, at the Manila Hotel.

In a video message, the senator expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and emphasized his continued dedication to serving the Filipino people.

“This award is not just for me, but for every Filipino whom I continue to serve and who inspires me in my work as a public servant,” Senator Go stated in his message, highlighting the significance of the accolade.

The event, attended by an estimated 400 guests, celebrated the achievements of Filipino entrepreneurs, professionals, and public servants who have contributed to societal progress. Senator Go commended his fellow awardees, describing them as exemplars of perseverance and compassion.

“To my fellow awardees tonight, especially those recognized in the field of public service, you are a great inspiration to me. Public service is not an easy responsibility, but I know that we are all guided by the same goal—to help and to provide a better future for our fellow Filipinos,” he added.

The annual awards, organized by Managing Director Imelda Cera Porlucas Balunes, aim to honor individuals and organizations who excel in various fields.

Senator Go, through his representative, also took the opportunity to praise Filipino entrepreneurs and professionals, underscoring their role in fostering economic growth and uplifting the nation.

“To our entrepreneurs and professionals, I salute you. Your success is not just a personal achievement but a triumph for our country as well. Your businesses and initiatives provide jobs, hope, and inspiration to many,” he remarked.

Senator Go’s award follows a series of accolades from the same award giving body for his contributions to public service. He was previously honored in 2022 as an Outstanding and Significant Achievement in Public Service awardee and received the Agape Award in December 2023. His commitment to health reforms and service to underserved communities remains central to his legislative agenda.

“To the organizers of the Golden Globe Annual Awards, thank you for your dedication to recognizing Filipinos with exceptional contributions to our society. Your awards continue to inspire many to strive harder and persevere,” he said.

Senator Go stressed in his message an appeal for unity and collective effort toward nation-building. “Tonight, let us celebrate our achievements, but let us not forget to use them as a strength to further help our nation. Each of us has the ability to inspire and become an instrument of change,” he emphasized

Senator Go’s guiding philosophy and the reason why he continues to tirelessly deliver public service and various forms of aid to fellow Filipinos is through his belief that service to the people is service to God.

“This award is for all Filipinos who continues to serve with passion dedication and ‘malasakit’, knowing that true success is measured by how
much we uplift the lives of others and the impact of what we do to our communities. There must always be compassion, love, and service for society,” he said.

“With or without an award, patuloy akong magtatrabaho at magseserbisyo sa abot ng aking makakaya dahil naniniwala ako na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo sa Diyos. Bukas palagi ang aking opisina para sa inyong lahat,” he added.

One of the clearest examples of this commitment to bring services closer to Filipinos in need is the Malasakit Centers, which have now reached over 166 centers nationwide to make medical assistance more accessible to Filipinos in need. Principally authored and sponsored by Go, RA 11463, or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, brings together representatives from concerned agencies to support impoverished patients in reducing their hospital costs to the least possible amount.

Similarly, the awardees tonight have shown compassion through their contributions to their clients, employees, and communities. Each product, service, and initiative launched has not only added value to businesses but also created a positive impact on society, according to Go.

Go, known as Mr. Malasakit, reiterated his dedication to public service, stating, “Patuloy kaming magseserbisyo sa inyo dahil bisyo ko ang magserbisyo, at ako ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo ‘yan sa Panginoon, serbisyo ‘yan kay Allah.”
