Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, Vice Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, personally spearheaded the turnover of 12 new utility vehicles on Wednesday, November 27 in Bacoor City, Cavite. These vehicles, intended to improve local government services and enhance mobility, were distributed to barangays to better address the needs of residents.
The project, part of Go’s ongoing support for grassroots communities, aims to empower local government units (LGUs) by equipping them with tools to provide efficient and accessible services. Go played a pivotal role in securing the funding necessary for the vehicles in partnership with Mayor Strike Revilla and the city government.
Go said during the turnover ceremony.
Held at the Strike Gym, the event gathered local officials, barangay captains, and community leaders.
As an adopted son of CALABARZON region, Go reiterated his commitment to ensuring that government resources are allocated strategically to address the needs of grassroots communities. He emphasized the importance of projects like this in bridging gaps in public service.
The utility vehicles, designed for multiple functions such as disaster response, barangay patrols, and health service delivery, will significantly improve service delivery at the community level. Barangay officials welcomed the vehicles as vital assets for their daily operations.
Go has likewise supported various road improvements in the cities of Cavite, Dasmariñas, General Trias, Imus, and Tagaytay; rehabilitation and improvement of the municipal fire station in Noveleta; rehabilitation of covered courts in various barangays in General Trias City; acquisition of ambulance units for the local government of Indang and Trece Martires City; and improvement of a sports facility in Cavite State University in Indang.
Go, who is known as Mr. Malasakit for his compassionate service to Filipinos in need.
On the same day, Go also extended assistance to displaced workers in the city.
