BONG GO LAUDS UNIVERSAL GUARDIANS BROTHERHOOD FOR ITS 48TH ANNIVERSARY; CALLS FOR CONTINUED UNITY AND COLLABORATION TO HELP COMMUNITIES IN NEED

SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go joined thousands of Universal Guardians Brotherhood (UGB) members at the Marikina Sports Center in Marikina City to celebrate the organization’s 48th Founding Anniversary on Saturday, May 4.

Established in 1976, UGB is a socio-civic service fraternity focusing on service. They uphold principles of brotherhood, unity, solidarity, and oneness. The celebration was a meaningful platform for the Guardians to reflect on their achievements and reinforce their commitment to societal welfare, drawing many attendees from various regions.

Go started his address by acknowledging the presence and support of the people who have been pivotal in his journey, not just as a public servant but as a true Filipino dedicated to his roots and his country.

“Hindi n’yo po ako maririnig na mangangako na kayang gawin ito o kayang gawin ‘yan. Hindi po ako gano’n. Magtatrabaho lang po ako para sa kabutihan ng aking kapwa Pilipino,” he stated.

The senator emphasized the crucial role of organization like the Guardians in fostering compassion and service to communities in need of support.

“As your fellow public servant, I want to express my deepest appreciation to each of you—the courageous and diligent Guardians who empower and inspire our community,” said Go.

“Your unwavering dedication to service and charity is evident not just in the projects you undertake but also in your daily interactions with our fellow Filipinos,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of unity and cooperation, Go pointed out the Guardians’ significant contributions to societal progress.

“Each passing year, your actions reaffirm the importance of unity and cooperation. Your ongoing efforts to create safe, inclusive, and sustainable communities significantly contribute to our society’s welfare,” remarked Go.

“Through each activity, program, and gathering, you uphold peace and unity—fundamental pillars crucial for us to progress as a nation,” he added.

Go also reassured the audience of his continued support and commitment to their cause: “As we continue to confront challenges, may our strong bond persist. Rest assured that you will have my full support at every step. I am ready and wholeheartedly committed to the causes that will uplift our communities and our entire country.”

In his speech, Go also extended his profound gratitude to the local officials and members of the UGB who played important roles in the success of the 48th Founding Anniversary event.

He acknowledged the presence of fellow Senator Francis Tolentino and expressed his appreciation to Senator Ramon Revilla Jr., represented by Congresswoman Lani Mercado Revilla.

Go also acknowledged Melvin “UGMF Isaac” Contapay, the Universal President, alongside all the Apex Officers and Council Members of the Universal Guardians Brotherhood. He extended his appreciation to the dedicated officers of the Central Confederations, Cluster Commands, Legions, Pillars, and Branches of the Guardians Brotherhood, whose commitment and teamwork significantly contribute to the community’s welfare and the organization’s enduring mission.

As he wrapped up his heartfelt speech, Go reinvigorated the audience with a call to sustained action and solidarity, “Asahan ninyo na kasama ninyo ako sa bawat hakbang. Tulad ng inyong samahan, ako po’y nandirito lang na handang magserbisyo sa inyong lahat sa abot ng aking makakaya dahil bilang inyong Mr. Malasakit, bisyo ko na ang magserbisyo sa kapwa ko Pilipino.”
