Senator Christopher “Bong” Go dispatched his Malasakit Team to immediately assist Purok 5, Barangay Poblacion fire victims in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental on Friday, December 20.
In a message, Go highlighted the ongoing modernization initiatives at the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to boost its capacity to handle fire emergencies and disaster situations more effectively.

A lost life is a lost life forever,” said Go in a video message.
The Malasakit Team, in collaboration with Mayor Juanito Inojales, conducted the relief activity at Governor Generoso Mayor’s Office, where they distributed financial assistance, grocery packs, water containers, fans, bags, basketballs, and shirts to affected households.
Go, the chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography and health reforms crusader, encouraged the community to prioritize their health and visit the nearest Malasakit Center at Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center in Mati City if they need medical assistance.
The Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop that provides convenient access to the medical assistance programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Health, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. Currently, there are 166 Malasakit Centers nationwide that have assisted more than 15 million Filipinos, according to DOH reports.
“Ang Malasakit Center po ay one-stop shop. Nasa loob na ho ng hospital ‘yung apat na ahensya ng gobyerno na handang tumulong po sa inyong pagpapagamot,” noted Go, who is the principal author and sponsor of the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019.
Go who is known as Mr. Malasakit for his compassion towards Filipinos in need.
