BONG GO’S MALASAKIT TEAM VISITS LAS PIÑAS CITY, TO PROVIDE AID AND SUPPORT FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

IN his continued efforts to support inclusive economic recovery, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s Malasakit Team visited Las Piñas City on Thursday, October 5, to assist small business owners. Recognizing the vital role that small enterprises play in driving the economy, Go focused on extending support to help struggling entrepreneurs get back on their feet.

Go emphasized that small businesses are the backbone of the economy and need comprehensive support to ensure their growth.

During the event, Go reiterated his commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment through government programs that support small and medium enterprises (SMEs). He urged aspiring entrepreneurs to take advantage of government livelihood assistance available to them.

Go who is known as Mr. Malasakit for his compassionate service to Filipinos in need.

In support of local businesses, Go authored and co-sponsored Republic Act 11960, known as the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Act. The OTOP program promotes national pride in Filipino-made products while providing small-scale producers opportunities to expand their market reach. By focusing on local specialties, the program aims to elevate the livelihoods of communities and contribute to the country’s overall economic progress.

The relief event, held at the Barangay Zapote Hall, saw the distribution of essential items such as snacks, vitamins, masks, and shirts from Senator Go.

Meanwhile, through the efforts of Zapote Barangay Captain Cesar Rubio, the 12 qualified recipients received livelihood support from the national government. This initiative provides financial support to help entrepreneurs scale up their operations or start new income-generating activities.
