BTR NAKALIKOM NG P15-B MULA SA TREASURY BILLS AUCTION

NAKALIKOM ang pamahalaan ng P15 billion mula sa Treasury bills (T-bills) auction nitong Lunes, ayon sa Bureau of the Treasury (BTr).

Sinabi ng BTr na ang 91-, 182-, at 364-day T-bills ay may average rates na 5.698 percent, 5.904 percent at 6.046 percent, ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod, mas mababa sa umiiral na secondary market rates.

Bilang paghahambing, ang Bloomberg Valuation Service average rates ay nasa 5.736 percent para sa three-month tenor, 5.960 percent para sa six-month tenor, at 6.065 percent para sa one-year tenor.

Gayunman, kumpara sa rates noong nakaraang linggo, ang 182-day at 364-day T-bills’ average rates ay tumaas mula 5.886 percent at  6.043 percent, habang ang 91-day average rate ay bahagyang bumaba mula 5.719 percent.

“Treasury bill average auction yields again corrected slightly higher for the 2nd straight week ahead of the latest local inflation data for the month of May 2024 that is expected to be slightly faster versus [the] 3.8% year-on-year in April 2024,” sabi ni Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation chief economist Michael Ricafort.

Ang auction ay halos 3.0 times oversubscribed dahil ang total tenders ay nagkakahalaga ng P44 billion.

Sa full award, ang BTr ay nakalikom ng full program na P15 billion para sa auction.
