MAPAPALABAN ang mga sikat na international players mula sa Europe at Asia sa kanilang Philippine counterparts sa Beach Volleyball Republic On Tour Surigao del Sur leg sa Sabado sa Gran Ola Resort sa Lianga.
Kabilang sa mga lalahok sa two-day, double-gender event ang fancied Thailand women pairs nina Nasuda Janmong at Saranya Laesood, gayundin sina Kijja Khantarak at Sirinuch Kawfong, kapuwa beterano ng AVC tournaments.
Sasabak din sina Raja Nazmi Hussin at Mohd Aizzat Zokri, kumatawan sa Malaysia sa 18th Asian Games men’s beach volleyball competition sa Indonesia, sa seventh leg ng taon.
Magbabalik ang BVR On Tour sa Surigao del Sur, na nadominahan nina Singapore’s Ong Wei Yu at Eliza Chong Hui Hui noong nakaraang taon laban kina Dzi Gervacio at Bea Tan ng Perlas.
Sa pagkakataong ito, hindi lamang ang women’s division ang lalaruin sa two-day event kundi maging ang men’s.
Puspusan ang paghahanda ng bayan ng Lianga para sa matagumpay na pagdaraos ng 33rd leg ng beach volleyball circuit.
“Actually, I am very proud and honor to host again this 2nd BVR on Tour in our humble and beloved town Lianga. As you can see that i want Lianga to put in the tourism map not just in the Philippines but in the world in general. Hosting this event is one way of presenting our beloved Lianga in a bigger platform which enable us to introduce in different places,” wika ni Mayor Homer Pedrozo.
“This 2nd BVR on tour which takes place in Sept. 1 and 2 is another milestone for us Liangeños to show our utmost hospitality and the beauty of Lianga to all our visitors. This time it is an international event and both men and women division. I also look forward to hosting this event yearly in promoting sustainability with BVR as emerging sports tourism in our Municipality of Lianga,” dagdag pa niya.
Sina Gervacio at Tan ay isa sa mga paborito makaraang pumangalawa kina Sisi Rondina at Babylove Barbon ng University of Santo Tomas sa Manila leg, dalawang linggo na ang nakalilipas.
Ang initial lineup ng mga koponan ay kinabibilangan ng international duos mula sa Austria at Norway, gayundin ang local teams Ateneo, University of the Philippines, BanKo-Perlas, Philippine Air Force at National University.
