Citystate Savings Bank (CSBank) held an engaging Sportsfest at the Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City on Saturday, June 15, 2024. The event, themed “Palarong Pinoy,” was designed to promote wellness, camaraderie, and sportsmanship, while fostering stronger bonds among employees.
The festivities kicked off with a vibrant parade of colors, where employees, grouped according to clusters, proudly displayed their team spirit. The program officially began with the singing of the national anthem, followed by a doxology. The torch-lighting ceremony, symbolizing unity and the competitive spirit, featured representatives from each team, culminating in the torch being received by CSBank President Jaime Valentin L. Araneta.
CSBank Vice Chairman Benjamin V. Ramos warmly welcomed the participants and encouraged them to make the most of this opportunity to connect with colleagues beyond the usual phone and online interactions. He highlighted the importance of building strong workplace relationships.
After the Oath of Sportsmanship, the event burst into a display of talent and teamwork. The Cheerdance Competition, in which teams showcased spirited routines, filled the venue with energy and enthusiasm, followed by the TikTok Dance Competition, which added a modern twist with teams showcasing dance skills and creativity.
The traditional Palarong Pinoy games, including Batuhang Bola, Bao or Bunot Relay, Sack Race, Sipa or Pitcha, and Pinoy Henyo, saw teams fiercely competing to earn points and demonstrate their skills.
After these activities, the excitement continued with the awarding of winners for the Cheerdance, Tiktok Dance, and Palarong Pinoy competitions.
In his speech, CSBank President Jaime Valentin Araneta expressed his gratitude to the management and employees for making the event possible. He emphasized the importance of celebrating the spirit of togetherness.
Moreover, “ALCie,” the official mascot of the ALC Group of Companies, made his first appearance at the Sportsfest, adding an extra element of fun and cheer to the event.
The event concluded with the highly anticipated basketball championship and the awarding of the winning team, capping off a day filled with fun, teamwork, and spirited competition.
