PINAGPAPLANUHAN na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na magbukas pa ng mga karagdagang ‘traditional’ at  ‘provincial routes’ dahil sa mga napaulat na mga  colorum vehicles  na nagsasakay upang makaiwas sa mga ‘quarantine restrictions.’

Ayon kay DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, sa kasalukuyan ay kanila pang pinagdi-diskusyunan ang nasabing isyu at kanilang iaanunsiyo agad ang napagkasunduang ‘route expansion plan.’

“Kaya nga pinagpaplanuhan ngayon. In the next 48 hours magkakaroon ng anunsiyo regarding the provincial routes,” saad ni Tugade.

Iminungkahi rin nito ang pagbubukas ng ‘traditional routes’ habang hinihintay ang pag-apruba ng  ‘rationalized routes scheme’ sa gitna ng paghihigpit dahil sa  COVID-19 pandemic.

Ang aksiyon ng DOTr ay makaraang makatanggap ng impormasyon na may mga van, at  truck ang nagta-transport  ng mga mananakay sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng istriktong  quarantine.

“Parang ginagawa ‘yung sa mga border ng ibang bansa. Nakita ko rin sa film ng ibang bansa kung saan nagkakaroon ng human smuggling,” pahayag pa ni Tugade.

Nauna nang binawasan ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang bilang ng mga ruta at units  ng public utility vehicles upang masawata ang pagkalat pa ng COVID-19.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal o “NCR Plus” ay nasa ilalim ng enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) bubble, kung saan ang entry at exit ng mga tao ay hinigpitan. BENEDICT ABAYGAR, JR.
