(DBP, SB Corp sanib-puwersa) PAGBANGON NG MSMES PABIBILISIN

NAGKASUNDO ang state-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) at Small Business Corporation (SB Corp.) para sa pagbuo ng isang strategic client referral at management system para sa epektibong pangangasiwa sa assistance programs para sa micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) ng dalawang institusyon.

Ayon kay DBP President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel G. Herbosa, ang  memorandum of understanding (MOU) ng bangko sa  SB Corp. ay makatutulong sa pagpapatupad ng DBP RESPONSE para mapabilis ang MSME program at ang COVID-19 Assistance to Restart Enterprises (CARES) program ng SB Corp.

“This partnership between two government financial institutions is a testament to the national government’s unified efforts to hasten recovery of the MSME sector, which remains as the backbone of our local economy,” sabi ni Herbosa.

Ang DBP ay sixth largest bank sa bansa pagdating sa assets at nagkakaloob ng credit support sa apat na strategic sectors ng ekonomiya — infrastructure and logistics; micro, small and medium enterprises; environment; at social services and community development.

Samantala, ang SB Corp. ay isang attached agency ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at may mandatong bumalangkas at magpatupad ng mga polisiya at programa para sa kapakinabangan ng MSMEs, kabilang ang financing, information services, training at marketing.

Sinabi ni Herbosa na sa ilalim ng partnership, papangkatin ng dalawang institusyon ang mga aplikante ayon sa laki ng assets kung saan pangangasiwaan ng DBP ang aplikasyon ng mga negosyo na may asset size na mahigit sa P15-million habang ang mga may assets na mababa sa P15-million ay ire-refer sa SB Corp.

Magtutulungan din, aniya, ang DBP at SB Corp. sa pagbuo ng marketing strategies at pagsasagawa ng joint promotional activities para sa MSME RECOVERY ng DBP at CARES programs ng SB Corp.

“In addition, DBP shall also serve as a depository/ disbursing bank and conduit for SB Corp.’s programs and project funds,” ani Herbosa. “We would leverage on the collective strengths of DBP and SB Corp. to ensure the proper and efficient management and disbursement of resources to our valued MSMEs.”
