INATASAN ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ Abalos Jr. si Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Chief Jail Director Allan Iral na imbestigahan ang ginawang strike at noise barrage ng may 100 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) sa Iloilo District Jail sa Barangay Nanga, Pototan na bunsod ng umano’y kakulangan ng pagkain at kahilingang sibakin ang kanilang warden.
“We have ordered Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Chief, Jail Director Allan Iral to conduct an immediate investigation on the unfortunate incident and to temporarily relieve Jail Chief Inspector Norberto Miciano from his post as jail warden to give way to an impartial investigation,” ani Abalos.
“We will continue to undertake measures to improve jail services and jail facilities to help in the rehabilitation of PDLs and their eventual reintegration to the society,” dagdag pa ni Abalos.
EVELYN GARCIA
